Screamboat 2025 Afdah is not like other horror movies. It’s weird, funny, creepy, and completely unexpected. The movie takes a public domain cartoon character—based on the famous Steamboat Willie—and turns him into a slasher villain. The result? A blood-soaked horror-comedy with serious style.
A group of passengers on a ferry are trapped at night with a silent killer. He’s dressed in old cartoon clothes, moves like a toon, but kills like a horror monster. Every scene builds tension, and the kills are gory but also creative. There are laughs too, but the fear feels real.
Director Steven LaMorte keeps things moving quickly, and the story never gets boring. The killer is played by David Howard Thornton, who once again proves he can scare without saying a word. His creepy smile and mime-like movements add a lot to the film.
Screamboat is short but delivers a full experience. If you like your horror weird, with some laughs and clever ideas, this movie is for you. It’s indie, it’s bold, and it’s unlike anything you’ve seen before. Watch it with friends—and maybe avoid ferry rides for a while.
